Here we go 2012!
The legendary Glemseck 101 – from 31. August to 2. September 2012.

Our famous Open Air Biker Event, open for ALL riders & bikes & styles, including the 101 Sprint-Races into genuine Cafe Racer tradition on the historical german racetrack of the Solitude near Stuttgart and Leonberg.

The 101 Cafe Racer Sprints will be organized by our 101-Team and our mediapartner the Motorcycle Magazine MO.

The 101 Cafe Racer Sprint 2012 starts on Saturday the 01. September 2012 in two classes:
»International« – 8 Riders – Mano a Mano, K.O.– System
»Open Class« – 32 Riders – Mano a Mano, K.O. – System

Both races run over the distance of a 1/8 mile, or about 200 meters lenght. Venue will be the start-finish line of the old Solitude race track near Stuttgart and Leonberg.
The rules corresponding to the last year: Racing Cafe Racer in the classic style. They must be street legal! There are no construction year restrictions, and all bikes will start in a common class. Man against man, woman against woman, man against woman. Whoever crosses the finish line first comes into the next round.

Important:
Only air-cooled engines are permitted for both Cafe Racer Sprint Races! And there is a rock solid engine capacity restriction: Motorcycles up to three cylinders – a maximum of 1000 ccm / four cylinders have a maximum of 750 ccm.

Since we do have a restrictive numbers of start places you can only register for our sprint races by application: Photos from your Cafe Racer and some words about the technical datas. From all applications we and the MO editorial staff  will put together an interesting and exciting starter field for both races.

More liberal rules for the 101 Young Rider’s Sprint on Sunday, 1. September 2012: Everything is allowed, which has two wheels and a motor in between.

This race too, runs over the distance of a 1/8 mile, or about 200 meters lenght. Venue will be the start-finish line of the old Solitude race track near Stuttgart and Leonberg. Race is driver against driver. Winner is who runs first about the finish line.

However, with a maximum of 100 ccm final, and the rider must not be older than 25 years. Although we expect to see wild modifications: In order to get the technical approval from our Race-Experts AMSC Leonberg the technique must not be street legal but safe in riding and racing! The bikes also take part in a design competition in which the three most attractive modifications will be awarded.

Since we do have a restrictive numbers of start places (32 riders) you can only register for our Young Rider’s Sprint by application: Photos from your racer and some words about the technical datas. From all applications we and the AMSC race staff  will put together an interesting and exciting starter field.

On our 101 Race Sunday there will be also a new 101 sprint race! More in the tradition of typical German Youth Bikes of the early 70′ and 80′. Our 50ccm Classic Sprint with 32 riders in the starter field.

The technical rules are simple: Two wheels, 50 ccm, year of manufacture before and including 1985, tuning allowed.

In order to get the technical approval from our Race-Experts AMSC Leonberg the technique must not be street legal but safe in riding and racing!

Information for our foreign friends and guests

Welcome to round 7 of Event Glemseck 101.
The famous motorcycle event in south west Germany

We’re located right at the famous Solitude Racetrack near Stuttgart, Germany, where the Grand Prix took place until the end of the sixties. Today Glemseck is the most popular meeting point for motorcyclists in the region.

Once a year we celebrate this unique place with an open air festival – the Glemseck 101 – partying with Rock’n’Roll Bands, Motorcycle Clubs, Special Guests and a large dealers mall. Our Media Partner is the highly reputated MO magazine from Stuttgart.

Part of the Glemseck 101 event is a 1/8 Mile CAFE RACER SPRINT to which we invite CAFE RACER CLUBS to partake and compete.

Also, the Glemseck 101 event enjoying close relationship with our friends from Ace Cafe London and their Co-Director and Ace Reunion founder Mark Wilsmore.
